Sue Fuchs McEwen, B.F.A.

Light, color, form, and function go hand in hand when I design for my clients. I’ve always been drawn to the art world — it started in high school, where my art teacher, Mr. Rauch, recognized something in me that I hadn’t yet seen in myself. His encouragement led me to pursue a fine arts degree, setting the course for everything that followed.
I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Edinboro State College in Pennsylvania, majoring in jewelry, metalsmithing, weaving, and textiles, with minors in watercolor and environmental science. That combination of artistry and observation — craftsmanship and nature — still shapes how I approach my work today.
My love for nature and organic form is apparent in everything I create, whether it’s color consulting, a custom mural, or a hand-painted finish. Each project begins with light — how it moves through a space — and ends with balance, texture, and emotion.
Through Q1ofaKind, I’ve spent decades bringing that vision to homes and businesses across Hamburg, Buffalo, and Western New York. My goal is simple: to help clients see their surroundings differently — not just as walls or rooms, but as living, breathing extensions of who they are.
